While GYROTONICŪ was invented by a dancer and
clearly has movement properties that come from dance, it is
not a tool for dancers alone. GYROTONICŪ is an excellent
exercise system to develop core strength, coordinated
movement, proper healthy breathing patterns and outstanding
posture. Do you want to look like the master of your domain
when you're meeting new clients? Few tools will create the
healthy posture and vibrant look of success better than
GYROTONICŪ.
The ideal corrective for an office job. It
releases my neck and lower back, dissolves pent-up frustration
and anxiety, and leaves me feeling light, fit, loose and
composed. - Denis Johnston, Copy Editor,Sports

While it can appear appear to be complicated,
requiring the gumby-like bodies of a waifish ballet dancer,
GYROTONICŪ is great for every body type. Even for a person who
hasn't been in contact with their body for years and feels
stiff, weak and tired, from the very first GYROTONICŪ session
the body will feel different, healthier, more open and mobile.
The first thing you'll feel through doing GYROTONICŪ is an
opening of your muscles and joints. That's the obvious part
and it feels great. Once your body has started to open up and
your joints are moving in ranges of motion they forgot
existed, you'll start to feel the second major aspect of the
work, which is connected, coordinated and strong movements. The
most simple motions you do at home, like reaching for a mug
for your morning coffee, are not isolated motions. When you
reach up to grab that mug, you're not reaching just with your
arm, nor is your arm what initiates the movement. Everything
starts in your center, in your core. Through GYROTONICŪ training, you'll start
to feel those connections from your pelvic bowl (hips) to your
finger tips. Every motion becomes easier, smoother, more
graceful and stronger. With each session, you're going to
reduce the chances that you'll injure your back picking up
your 30lb 18 month old kid. |
It's a way of taking care of my body by opening
up the spine and improving the quality of movements in space,
on the baseball field, and in life. By opening up pathways in
my body, both GYROTONIC and GYROKINESIS practice help my
actions and reactions in baseball to be quicker, smoother, and
completely under control. - Brian Henderson, Pitcher, Tampa
Bay Devil Rays
For athletes, the complexity of the
movements in GYROTONICŪ training has two great benefits to
improve your game. First, your coordination improves.
GYROTONICŪ exercises require you to know where all of your body
parts are at all time and what they're doing. The longer
you're doing GYROTONICŪ the more in depth the
details get, requiring you to manage your entire body at all
times. The second benefit to such complex, coordinated
movement is improving your skill acquisition. By having a
system where all motions are total body and you're in a
multitude of seated, standing and lying positions, you not
only learn how to move your body but how to learn how to move.
You become better and figuring out how to make your body do
what you want which translates to shorter learning curves when
picking up a new sports skill, like a smooth one handed
backhand. |
